In the ever-evolving landscape of San Diego Comic-Con, there's always room for more of everything. What began as a comic book convention has morphed into more of a pop-culture convention where fans can get a taste of the latest comics, toys, video games, movies and TV shows.
Now music may be looking to get in on the action, with two major bands already set to play shows during the convention. First up is Metallica, who will be treating folks to a secret show in San Diego to coincide with their upcoming film Metallica Through The Never. The show will follow their panel on Friday July 19 and be held at a secret location. The panel, to be held in Hall H, will feature all four members of Metallica along with actor Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), director-writer Nimród Antal (Predators, Kontroll) and producer Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth). Fans can win tickets by attending the panel, and following the concert Fandango will make advanced tickets available for the movie, due in theaters on September 27, 2013.
As far as Weezer goes, details are a bit scarce. According to Latino Review's El Mayimbe (who's cohosting his own annual Kings of Con party), Weezer will be performing during a party for The Walking Dead on Friday, July 19.
While El Mayimbe's Kings of Con party invite features the Pussycat Dolls, he's informed us that they're not performing. Still, we're loving the invite art for his party (see below), which takes place Thursday, July 18. Follow all of our Comic-Con coverage by bookmarking this link.
