Have you ever seen Mel Gibson
when he's angry?
Oh wait, yeah, we all have actually, on multiple occasions. And it's not a pretty sight. Wouldn't you have loved to be eavesdropping on the phone call that alerted Mel to the fact that he wouldn't be making a career-resurrecting cameo in The Hangover 2 (as originally planned) because the entire cast protested and convinced producers and director Todd Phillips to find someone else? One can only imagine how many f-bombs were dropped during that phone call; though no one probably counted, we assume at least one foul-mouthed world record was set.
Especially considering the news that, according to the NY Post, Gibson was "furious" at producers for "booting him from the flick," mainly because he was hoping this would help rejuvenate his career like it kind of did for Mike Tyson after he made a cameo in the first movie. Furthermore, Gibson doesn't understand why Tyson, a former drug addict who was known to beat a woman or two on occasion, would be great for a cameo, but not Gibson.
Many believe it's because Gibson's wounds are still a little too fresh. He has since been replaced by Liam Neeson in The Hangover sequel as a Bangkok tattoo artist, and we're sure folks will compare the two once the film comes out, pondering whether or not Gibson would've been better in the role.
Regardless, Mel Gibson is definitely not the popular kid at the playground anymore. However, there's always room for the controversial actor to cameo in another sequel ...
... ahem, Passion of the Christ 2, anyone?
