We still can't believe they're actually making a Michael Bay-produced live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie right now, and that it stars Megan Fox, an actress who very publicly went to war with Bay between Transformers 2 and 3. But such a movie will exist, and as fans of the Ninja Turtles we hope they manage to find a tone that's fun and engaging, but also kicks a little ass too. After all, they're ninjas!
Anyway, filming is now underway and we have our first look at some of the movie's human characters: April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett). Those familiar with their TMNT history know that O'Neil, a television news reporter, is a constant companion (and sometimes motherly figure) for the Turtles, while Fenwick is April's shifty, cowardly cameraman.
Some earlier images of April arrived minus the character's vintage yellow jumpsuit, and naturally it was the first thing fans commented on. However, we see in the image above that the '80s-style jumpsuit has been given a more contemporary look as a simple yellow jacket. Below, we see a clearer image of Fox without the jacket.
And here's one more of both Fox and Arnett.
We actually like the fact that Fox was cast as April because this may be the first role she's had that allows her to utilize all sorts of range instead of being shoved in there for sex appeal only. Fox is a charismatic actress when given the right material (we dug her in This Is 40), and she could definitely surprise people her. What do you think?
