Now that cast wishlists and the like have become a popular form of news, we wanted to create one place that houses all that stuff. Maybe Might Possibly is a new feature here at Movies.com where we'll collect all the potential casting reports floating around online and put them in one safe place.
-- For some strange reason, no one wants to play the lead role in Craig Gillespie’s upcoming Pride and Prejudice and Zombies adaptation. The list of actresses who turned the role down include Emma Stone and Natalie Portman. Meanwhile, Mia Wasikowska and Scarlett Johansson have been linked to the role. However, Twitch is now reporting that Gossip Girl star Blake Lively has been offered the part. Will the zombie film finally find its leading lady? Can Blake Lively headline a feature a film? Only time will tell.
-- Charlie Sheen might not have his cushy Two and a Half Men gig anymore, and no one really knows what to believe when it comes to his rumored Anger Management-inspired television series, but the actor does look like he’s about to collect a paycheck – for appearing in Scary Movie 5. Website TMT says Sheen’s taking up Harvey Weinstein’s offer to appear in the spoof series’ fifth installment, and the two are currently ironing out the details. We’re not sure which is sadder – Sheen in a Scary Movie installment, or his Comedy Central roast. Feel free to insert your own played out “Winning!” joke here…
-- Paris Hilton was in Mumbai over the weekend (and why wouldn’t she be? It’s not like she works or actually has any real life responsibilities…), where she told the gathered masses that she’s been approached to do Bollywood films and would gladly make one if she could find the right script. She then added “Bollywood films are so colorful” before getting distracted by the flashing light on a nearby photographer’s camera. The good news is, Paris’ script standards are pretty low, so maybe she will do a Bollywood film – and maybe, somehow, we can convince her to stay in India. If that works out, perhaps we can send the Kardashians with her…[via THR]
-- Director Jose Padilha’s at Fantastic Fest promoting his newest film, Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within, but all anyone really wants to talk about is the filmmaker’s upcoming Robocop remake. The Internet has been all abuzz with rumors about Padilha wanting Michael Fassbender to don the infamous visor, but the director wants to set the record straight – saying it’s just a rumor created by an overzealous Dutch journalist who latched on to a quote in a recent interview and ran with it.
Padilha tells The Playlist that he was merely mentioning actors he liked (and included Chris Pine), but now everyone thinks he’s targeted Fassbender specifically. According to Padilha, the two haven’t even spoken about the Robocop reboot. While we’d love to see Fassbender doling out justice – it doesn’t seem particularly likely to happen at the moment.
