So much time has been spent lining up the men for Steven Soderbergh's male stripper flick Magic Mike that it's now time to look out and see which women will be in this based-on-Channing-Tatum's-real-life tale and who they'll be playing. E! claims that Elvis Presley's granddaughter, model-turned-actress Riley Keough, has beat out the struggling Lindsay Lohan for the part of a girl who dates Alex Pettyfer's character in the movie. She's described as "trouble with a capital T," which we assume is why Lohan was also up for the role too.
Sources claim Keough eventually won out over Lohan because Soderbergh "didn't want to deal with all that. Nobody wants to go there." The "all that" probably has more to do with insuring the actress than it does trusting she'd do a good job with the part. Nevertheless, chalk it up as yet another project Lohan didn't get. Recently she was also up for the role of Kim Gotti in Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father, though that part has since gone to another up-and-comer, Alicia Vikander.
Meanwhile, Magic Mike is loosely based on actor Channing Tatum's early years as a male exotic dancer. Tatum will star alongside Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey, who plays a former dancer-turned-club owner. The film will hit theaters next year.
