Seeking Help: Rumors that Benicio Del Toro would be joining Star Trek 2 as the villain didn’t pan out, but he will appear in Oliver Stone’s Savages (above) next month, and now comes word that he will star in the drama Jimmy Picard, to be directed by Arnaud Desplechin (A Christmas Tale). Based on a true story, the film will follow a Native American who returns home after World War II, suffering from what we would probably describe nowadays as post-traumatic stress syndrome, and the friendship that developed between him and the French psychoanalyst who treats him. Big Screen Resurrection: Of all the shows on HBO that have been cancelled, Bored to Death might not be your first choice for a theatrical version, but co-star Ted Danson thinks it will happen, and the premium cable channel confirmed that “early conversations” have been held about the possibility. The show revolved around a writer (Jason Schwartzman) who moonlights as a private detective, and his friends, played by Danson and Zach Galifianakis. The show was cancelled in December after three seasons on the air. [Vulture]

Pixel Rumors: Many modern video games look so cinematic that they remain irresistible to movie studios, despite the high rate of failure. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is the latest rumored candidate for a big-screen adaptation. The game is a “stealth” action-adventure centered around an agent, voiced by Michael Ironside, involved in covert operations; the first of six editions (so far) came out in 2002. [Deadline]

Sing Sing Sing: The plucky and adorable Anna Kendrick stars in Pitch Perfect as a student who ends up in an a capella singing group. At first blush, the first trailer makes it look like Glee Goes to College, but we’ll reserve judgment until it comes out in October - or we see another trailer. [Yahoo! Movies]
