From Toy to Toy: In the midst of converting the delayed sequel GI Joe: Retaliation into 3D for release next spring, director Jon M. Chu (Step Up 3D) is in negotiations to make Masters of the Universe his next project. The live-action project, based on the Mattel toy line and revolving around a prince "who transforms into a warrior and becomes the last hope for a magical world,” has been in development for years; Dolph Lundgren starred in a 1987 version (above). Apply Within: After exploring family dynamics in We Bought a Zoo, Cameron Crowe is ready to return to romance -- and Emma Stone is coming with him. Writer-director Crowe’s next film will go before the cameras in the spring, and is described as a romantic "two-hander," focusing on just two characters. Reportedly, Crowe rewrote his draft of a script titled Deep Tiki, which had been set up several years ago with Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon. [Collider]

Unlikely Mentor: Famously selective about his roles, Bill Murray is in early negotiations to star in St. Vincent De Van Nuys, a comedy-drama in which he would play a retiree who becomes a mentor to a 12-year-old boy. His would-be character is described as "a war veteran whose life mainly consists of drinking, gambling and prostitutes;" Jack Nicholson has previously been rumored for the role. [Showblitz]

Olympic Hopeful: What would the London Olympics be without a little movie magic? In today’s amusing TV highlight, a Wreck-It Ralph clip is presented in person by Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer, who voice characters in the animated movie. Wreck-It Ralph smashes into theaters on November 2. [Yahoo! Movies]
