Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indy, Oh Indy: We thought Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull would be the “last hurrah” for the beloved franchise, but George Lucas and Steven Spielberg keep hinting that another story might be in the offing. Producer Frank Marshall, however, advises that talk about Indiana Jones 5 is, well, just that: "Yes, we talk about it, but there’s no idea, there’s no MacGuffin." He also indicates that none of the principal creatives are particularly enthused about it, so that may be it for the fedora and the bullwhip. [Collider]

Jump to the Past: First published in 1970, Time and Again, a novel by Jack Finney (The Body Snatchers), involves romance, time travel, a secret government agency and New York City in 1882. Over the years, multiple attempts have been made to translate it for the big screen, and the latest to give it a go is director Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Jumper). A writer needs to be hired first, though, which should be fine, since Liman is about to start shooting All You Need Is Kill with Tom Cruise. [Showblitz]

Just Breathe: A sequel to 1995’s Waiting to Exhale is inching forward. Writer Michael Elliott (Just Wright) has been hired to draft a new version of the screenplay for Getting to Happy, based on the 2010 novel by Terry MacMillan, which revisited the four main characters 15 years later. Whitney Houston starred in the original, along with Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon. Finding someone to step into Houston's shoes will be a big challenge. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Pretty in Porn: As a (possibly sleazy) lawyer, James Franco draws immediate attention in the racy new trailer for About Cherry, which is due out in September, but it’s Ashley Hinshaw who powers the movie as the titular character, a young woman who goes from high school to stripping to porn.
