Sony is grooming Beastly
, the modern take on Beauty and the Beast
, for a June 28 release on DVD and Blu-ray. The film stars I Am Number Four
's Alex Pettyfer
as a popular, spoiled and arrogant high school student who is transformed into a grotesque creature tasked with finding true love in one year to break the curse. Extras include the "Be Mine" music video by Kristina and the Dolls, "A Classic Tale Retold: The Story of Beastly
," deleted scenes, an alternate ending and "Creating the Perfect Beast."
Pettyfer, who was supposed to be the next big thing but seems hell-bent on cementing a reputation as a total douche, recently said that L.A.—the city he is trying to make it in—is still a "s**t hole" and that he wishes "they'd run all the c**ts out." With I Am Number Four costing $60 million and grossing only $54 million and Beastly pulling in a modest $27 million, it looks like L.A. might lose at least one beastly British c**t real soon. Which might not be a bad thing?
