It's definitely one of our most anticipated movies of 2012, and it should be one of yours too. Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) has already proven he's got the chops to entertain, and with his third feature film Looper he's taking his already-stylish approach to the sci-fi universe for a movie about gangsters who travel through time. Over the holiday weekend Johnson took to his Tumblr page to reveal his film's time machine, and it kinda reminds us of a combination of the thing Jake Gyllenhaal used in Source Code and the transporter from Stargate.
For Looper, it will serve as a time machine that gangsters use to send their victims back in time to a group of hitmen called Loopers, who kill and dispose of their victims in the past so there's no evidence of their death in the future. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays one of these Loopers whose life is thrown for a loop (pun!) when he recognizes his next victim (Bruce Willis) as being his future self. Something tells us Doc Brown would have a real problem with this whole scenario. Looper hits theaters on September 28th.

And speaking of Doc Brown, here are five other favorite time machines used in movies. Does the Looper machine have them beat, or does this thing desperately need more hot tub?
1. Delorean (Back to the Future)
2. Hot Tub (Hot Tub Time Machine)
3. Phone Booth (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure)
4. Uncle Rico's Online Time Machine (Napoleon Dynamite)
5. Badass Electrical Storm Naked-Man Sphere (Terminator movies)
