Live from Toronto: Here's What We Thought of 'Can a Song Save Your Life?' and 'Philomena'

Sep 08, 2013

One movie is about discovering your hidden talents and the other is about discovering your hidden adopted child, but there's no denying that both share similar themes of family, friendship and finding that one thing to help make you whole. On this special podcast live from the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, I'm joined again by Sean O'Connell to discuss our immediate, spoiler-free thoughts on John Carney's Can a Song Save Your Life? (read my full review here) and Stephen Frears' Philomena

We also touch briefly on The F Word and The Double, as well as go over some memorable celebrity encounters we've had while here (ahem, Michael Fassbender!). Thanks for listening, and you can check out more of our Toronto International Film Festival coverage right here, including our thoughts on films like Gravity, 12 Years a Slave, Prisoners, Dallas Buyers Club and more.
