We've shared bits and pieces of David Lynch's new album Crazy Clown Time, which hits on Monday, November 7 — but now we have the whole kit and caboodle to stream for you. The Inland Empire director opens his aural oasis with a moody plea from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O: "Pinky's Dream." She sings about "watching the road" — which makes sense for a man who's featured a long, dark strip of highway in several films he's made, particularly Lost Highway.
"Speed Roadster" isn't so much about a car as it is about how Lynch got "f*cked real bad … " There's an interesting mix of dreamy blues-electro beats and manic dance tunes like "Good Day Today," which was one of the earliest tracks previewed on the album. This definitely seems like a Lynch album through and through — even some of the titles have that aw-shucks innocence to them, like "These Are My Friends" and "So Glad." You can also hear snippets of Twin Peaks in just about every track, so Angelo Badalamenti is definitely here in spirit. Take a listen below and let us know what you think. Will you be picking up a copy come Monday, or are Lynch's strange proclivities better suited for cinema?
