If New Jersey had its own version of Silver Linings Playbook, it would be Don Jon's Addiction, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's hilarious feature debut as writer, director and star. Complete with thick New Jersey accents, gym workouts, loud family arguments, angry gum-chewing and plenty of porn, Don Jon's Addiction humanizes the Jersey Shore type by burying itself beneath the muscles and hair gel with a story about learning how to connect with another human being.
It's funny and heartwarming -- and features one of Scarlett Johansson's best performances as a controlling Jersey bombshell -- but seeing as I happen to grow up around the types of people featured in the film, I thought it might be fun to do a little something different. Instead of a straight-written review of the movie, I recorded an audio review as a character from the movie. Not literally, of course, but if Don Jon himself (Gordon-Levitt) went to see Don Jon's Addiction, this is exactly what his review of the movie would sound like.
Don Jon's Addiction does not currently have a theatrical release date, but we'll definitely let you know when it does. This one is worth a watch, bro.
