Mr. Eddy from David Lynch's Lost Highway, a lawyer/politician from Jersey, and the older sister from Sixteen Candles got together to make a movie. It's about a group of young women who were swiped off the abortion table and dragged to some nightmarish world where a doctor wants to force them to have their babies against their will. Kenneth Del Vecchio's film (he wrote and produced this gem), The Life Zone, sounds like some kind of forced breeding XXX tale that doesn't really exist – but it does, and we have the trailer to prove it.
Robert Loggia (Lost Highway), Lindsay Haun (Village of the Damned), Charles Durning (Dog Day Afternoon), Martin Cove (The Karate Kid), and Blanche Baker (Sixteen Candles) are just a few of the names you might recognize in Del Vecchio's oppressive opus being directed by Rod Weber. The pro-life horror film looks like it combines the typical Saw-like grungy environment as the stage for its female characters to become baby-making machines. The fact that a female Doctor is assisting in the operation is more unsettling than the terrible script.
Really, someone should be making a movie about Kenny D. This guy's fascinating – and his IMDb profile isn't short on interesting factoids. Did you know he's the Chairman of the Hoboken International Film Festival where his movie recently screened? He also "has an IQ of genius level." Not bad for a guy who produced the absolutely worthless Alone in the Dark 2.
