If you've been overlooking Ang Lee's adaptation of Yann Martell's novel
Life of Pi while fixating on
The Master and
Django Unchained, watch the new trailer for the film that opens November 21 and prepare to make room on your must-see list.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button's Claudio Miranda's cinematography is breathtaking, and although we're not proponents of 3D cinema, this could be one movie where the technology beautifully renders its magical storyline in powerful ways.
The film stars Suraj Sharma as Pi, a zookeeper's son who finds himself adrift the Pacific Ocean after a devastating shipwreck. A hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker are his only companions. It's an overly simple way to describe the tale that infuses religious allegory and so much more. Finding Neverland's David Magee adapted the screenplay, but the emphasis in the new trailer is definitely on the visuals and the adventure.
Give it a watch below. Between the moving scenes of Pi with Richard Parker, the gorgeous ocean setting and Mychael Danna's emotional score, we think you'll be pleased.
