Liam Neeson got his first, full feature taste for action movies with Taken, and now it seems the Irish actor has an addiction. He's been involved with quite a few since then, to the point where it's becoming a bit of a cliche to see Neeson running around in a foreign country, chopping people in the throat and yelling into cell phones. Of course, we'll still take Liam Neeson doing that over most any other action star, we just hope he doesn't get stuck in a rut.
The latest action movie notch on Neeson's cinematic bedpost is set to be Run All Night, in which he'll play a hit man who has to wipe out his entire mob family while protecting his real family over the course of a single night. Yep, that sounds like a Liam Neeson action movie, all right. It was written by Brad Ingelsby, who wrote the U.S. remake of The Raid, which has yet to go into production.
As of right now Jaume Collet-Serra is in talks to direct the film. If Warner Bros. reaches a deal with the director, it'll mark Collet-Serra's third action movie with Neeson, after Unknown and the currently filming Non-Stop. The latter finds Neeson as an air marshal trapped on a flight with a terrorist; a nice location change from his foreign city kill-a-thons, but we'll go out on a limb and imagine it's still going to involve more than a few throat chops.
