Marvel's Kevin Feige on 'Thor 3,' the Enchantress and Agent Coulson's Big-Screen Return

Mar 12, 2014

If you're a fan of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., then you already know that this week's episode was a big one in that it once again merged the big-screen universe with the small one, featuring Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif from the Thor movies and a fascinating villain from Asgard named Lorelai. Fans may already be aware that Lorelai has a sister named Amora (aka the Enchantress), who is a huge thorn in Thor's side in the comics, and a villain many would like to see play a role in the third Thor movie.

Tom Hiddleston has already gone on record saying he'd like to see Enchantress as the villain in a Thor sequel, so could Lorelai's appearance on the TV show be setting up a larger master plan in the Marvel movieverse? Perhaps one that will directly tie to Thor 3

"No, I wouldn't say that," Marvel chief Kevin Feige revealed to us during a lengthy chat earlier today. When we pressed on whether the events from that episode will play into the third Thor movie, Feige said, "They very much have to forge their own territory, their own ground on the TV show, and where events can coincide... it's fun to do that."

Speaking of events colliding, Agent Coulson's (Clark Gregg) storyline from The Avengers is currently playing itself out on the small screen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Naturally we had to ask if Coulson's story will circle back around to the big screen in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and naturally the good-natured Feige was noncommittal. "That is a good question that I probably shouldn't answer for any number of reasons," Feige noted with a bit of a chuckle.

On how the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier will affect the TV show going forward, Feige did admit that the movie was in the works before they even decided to move forward with the TV show, but that doesn't mean they won't intersect. "They, meaning the people in charge of the show, were well aware of our plans for this movie," Feige told us. "So fans of the movie should definitely tune in in the coming weeks after the film is released."

Stay tuned for lots more from our chat with Kevin Feige in the coming days leading up to the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4.
