Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway and More Explore Dreams in these Bizarre Videos

Dec 14, 2012

We usually look forward to seeing what the New York Times cooks up for its end-of-year video gallery. This time, it features the actresses whose performances defined the year in film. Wide Awake explores dreams and transformations, but really it's like watching the longest perfume commercial ever. It never ends. Never.

Anne Hathaway's hotel daydream proves once again that she has a really intense cry face. Then there's more dramatic sobbing with Naomi Watts' bizarre clip, which becomes increasingly hilarious, especially when she channels Diane Ladd in Wild at Heart and a little The Skin I Live In. Oof. Rebel Wilson becomes a shocking pink mermaid, while Keira Knightly grunts in a fairy tale-esque forest like she's having the biggest bowel movement of her life. Meanwhile, back in the suburbs, Jennifer Lawrence has a surreal, phallic encounter with a garden hose during her lunch break from King Tut's Kebab House.

Watch a few of the clips, below. Head to the New York Times for the rest.
