Jared Leto commissioned controversial photographer Terry Richardson — the artist who recently documented his mother's physical decline up to her death — to take some snaps of the actor's new physique. Leto will be appearing in Jean-Marc Vallée's film The Dallas Buyer's Club, headlined by Matthew McConaughey.
The Magic Mike actor will play a real-life electrician, Ron Woodroof, who contracted AIDS in the late 1980s and began smuggling drugs across the border from underground pharmacies in an attempt to save his life. A cross-dresser with HIV, Rayon, played by Leto, helps him. McConaughey was the first to capture press attention due to his weight loss for the role, taking his fit figure down 30 pounds. After spotting the Richardson photos on website Collider, we now know that Leto has followed suit. It's a dramatic weight loss and recalls the creepy days of Christian Bale in The Machinist. We shared a few photos below if you can stomach them (sorry!), but head to Collider for more skinny pics if you're morbidly curious.
