James Wan likes to make movies about dark houses where things go bump in the night. And that's fine with us because he's pretty damn good at it. Dead Silence and Insidious are both fine spook-house flicks, and the director has two more on the way: this summer's The Conjuring and Insidious 2. We can now add a third, untitled movie to the mix.
It was previously going under the moniker House of Horror, but now Variety says it's just an "untitled James Wan presents thriller from Dimension Films." But the title on the poster doesn't matter nearly as much as what's in the movie, and thankfully we've got a few more details there. It's based off of a story Wan came up with that involves a detective and a psychologist interrogating a sole survivor who claims to have gone into a house with four other ghost hunters, and the survivor contends that it was the house itself that killed his or her friends.
We don't know who the survivor will be, but we do now know that Frank Grillo (The Grey) and Maria Bello (A History of Violence) will be playing, respectively, the detective and psychologist. So we've got a good cast so far, an intriguing premise, and a fine producer onboard. Now horror fans just need to hope that director Will Canon (Brotherhood) can bring it all home.
