A few months ago director James Wan was named the new director of Fast & Furious 7, a surprise to many considering he's made low-budget horror movies almost exclusively his entire career. But don't worry horror fans, he's not heading off to megabudget Hollywood land and leaving you empty-handed. The man that created Saw has two horror movies hitting this summer and they both look fantastic.
The first is The Conjuring, which hits theaters on July 19, and the second is Insidious: Chapter 2. We've already seen a trailer for the former, about a team of ghost hunters in the '80s, and today brings the first trailer for the latter. If you liked Wan's 2010 film about a family dealing with a demon trying to possess their comatose child, then you're going to no doubt get chills watching this one. Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and the rest of the gang are back, as are the undead figures that love to hang out with them.
The plot isn't explicitly explained here, so don't worry about specific spoilers, but it does lay down the general premise of "go after Patrick Wilson's kids and he'll travel into your own undead world to get them back." You'd think those ghosts would have learned that lesson the first time, but apparently the Lambert family have delicious souls or something, because they just can't quit going after them.
Insidious: Chapter 2 hits theaters on September 13, 2013.
