Coen brothers fans rejoice – we’ve got the first official trailer for the duo’s newest feature, Inside Llewyn Davis, and we think you’re gonna dig it.
The dynamic directing duo (who’ve given us countless classics like Fargo, The Big Lebowski and No Country for Old Men) are back with this quasi-biographical take on the life of ‘60s folk musician Dave van Ronk – a guy who may not be instantly familiar to modern music fans, but who influenced artists like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell.
Oscar Isaac plays the title character, a talented musician trying to make a place for his art in the world. He’s joined by an all-star cast, including Carey Mulligan, Coen-brothers regular John Goodman and F. Murray Abraham. The tone of the clip makes it appear as though this will be a bit of a bittersweet dramedy, but in the capable hands of the Coens, we suspect that will work out just fine.
We’re still waiting on an official release date for Inside Llewyn Davis, but some lucky folks will get an early glimpse at the film next month when Sony hosts an official screening of the movie on its lot. If you’re not lucky enough to attend that event, enjoy this new clip and let us know what you think below. [via Indiewire]
