Nov 04, 2011

If you're one of those people who's been obsessively following the production of The Dark Knight Rises, then you know the much-anticipated Batman flick has spent the past week filming in New York City. We caught glimpses of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a police uniform, and if you do a simple Google search you can find a ton more spy photos and videos. It was also revealed earlier this week that the Batwing -- first spotted on the streets of Pittsburgh -- has returned once again; this time it's doing its thing in the Big Apple.

Where in the Big Apple, you ask? Well we've seen it close to the ground at one point, and now a friend of ours has sent us this fascinating little image of the Batwing hanging out on the top of a building some 40-stories above the ground on what looks to be a landing pad of sorts. Chances are they didn't haul that thing all the way up there for a parking space (though in New York City -- where parking spaces are ridiculously hard to come by -- it wouldn't really surprise us), so they're going to film a scene up there at some point.

What scene? Who's in it? Even if we knew, we wouldn't tell you because what's the fun in that? Better to be surprised ...

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th, 2012. Look for the next trailer to arrive in front of Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows this December, based on what we've heard. For more Dark Knight news, check out this week's Countdown.
