The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a little less than two months away, but fans who want to see this movie opening weekend are going to have to plan ahead. The first film took in $691.2 million worldwide, but some are predicting the sequel will far surpass that, possibly wrapping up its global theatrical run with close to $950 million in the bank.
If you’re interested in catching this one ASAP, advance tickets just went on sale over at Fandango, giving you the option to buy tickets to the film’s earliest wide release screening on Thursday, November 21 at 8:00 p.m. and loads of showings thereafter.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire kicks off where the first film left off, with Katniss and Peeta (Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson) returning as the victors of the 74th Hunger Games. As the big winners, Katniss and Peeta are required to embark on the Victory Tour during which they visit each and every district before celebrating at a lavish party at the Capitol. Along the way, Katniss can’t help but to notice the increasing unrest and brewing rebellion, and neither can President Snow (Donald Sutherland). In an effort to keep his citizens in line, Snow will make the Quarter Quell, the 75th Hunger Games, an event they’ll never forget.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set for a 2D and IMAX release on November 22, 2013 followed by Mockingjay – Part 1 on November 21, 2014 and Mockingjay – Part 2 on November 20, 2015.
