Deliver Us from Evil producer Matthew Cookie wrote and directed the documentary How to Make Money Selling Drugs, produced by Entourage star Adrian Grenier. The film will be premiering at TIFF next week, and features interviews with a slew of Hollywood celebs, rappers, real-life drug dealers, prison employees and lobbyists arguing for tougher drug laws.
"Presenting a step-by-step guide on how to go from street dealer to drug lord, the documentary reveals how public policy actually entices Americans into dealing drugs. Bert Marcus Productions was granted unprecedented access from top-ranking government officials, including U.S. Drug Czar to the Drug Enforcement Agency, all providing varied viewpoints on this controversial subject."
Although he prefers not to call himself an activist, Zombieland
star Woody Harrelson is no stranger to the green industry. He's been a supporter for the legalization of marijuana and hemp for some time now, and was even arrested
in 1996 after planting four hemp seeds to try to prove the distinction between the two for lawmakers. He was acquitted of all charges. Susan Sarandon hasn't been shy about the fact that she thinks some drugs are a lot of fun
, and then there's rapper 50 Cent who was dealing crack in Queens when he was only 12 years old. He left his drug dealing days behind him for a career in the music industry, which is when he was famously shot nine times. Eminem, Freeway Rick Ross and Russell Simmons also make appearances. Before you wonder what the hell Ariana Huffington is doing here, read up
on her stance regarding the drug war targeting minorities.
