We've written extensively about the controversial ending of Man of Steel (read our comic experts debate it right here); about the pros and cons of the film's epic (and destructive) final battle on the streets of Metropolis, and about some of the choices Superman makes that go against everything we've come to expect from the character. Regardless of how you feel about it, fact is Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer (with assistance from Christopher Nolan) have successfully relaunched the Man of Steel on the big screen in a way that definitely leaves us interested in seeing where they decide to take this new version of Superman next.
But while we wait for more news on that Man of Steel sequel (and whether it will lead to a Justice League movie), here's a fun little animated video from the How It Should've Ended folks where they very clearly explain how Superman could've successfully defeated General Zod without wreaking an incredible amount of havoc in Metropolis.
Granted, ending the movie this way doesn't really give you the sort of crazy, nonstop battle fans have come to expect from these big summer superhero movies, but any movie that concludes with Batman and Superman shooting the s**t in a diner is one we'd always support.
How do you think Man of Steel should've ended?
