The original I Spit on Your Grave
was one of the most condemned, reviled and controversial films when it was released in 1978. Now the revenge flick has been remade for the post-Saw
generation with Sarah Butler playing the titular character doing all the figurative spitting. The premise for both is essentially the same: a woman is brutally raped by rednecks in a remote location and takes revenge on her attackers by systematically stalking and dispatching them in horrific ways.
Anchor Bay is releasing both films on DVD and Blu-ray on February 8, just in time to scare your Valentine into line. The 2010 remake includes a commentary track, an in-depth behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, trailers and more. The original movie, which makes its Blu-ray debut, will feature an all-new high-definition transfer and a new interview with writer-producer-director Meir Zarchi about the legacy of this dubious cinematic landmark.
