In Honor of 'The Spectacular Now,' These Spectacular Movies Are Returning to Theaters

Jul 03, 2013

The 500 Days of Summer writers have whipped up another tale of tortured, young love — this time about a "bad boy" (Miles Teller, who makes a case for the atypical, hard-partying type) and the good girl he falls for (played by Shailene Woodley). The Spectacular Now, adapted from Tim Tharp's novel, opens in theaters on August 2. To put us in the mood, theaters across the country are releasing iconic coming-of-age tales each week leading up to the film's release.

Each screening will feature an exclusive video intro from screenwriters Michael Weber and Scott Neustadter. If you want to revisit Cameron Crowe's directorial debut, Say Anything, and relive the angsty and emotional dramas of high school detention in The Breakfast Club, then keep your eyes peeled for tickets at the below locations. Hit up the Spectacular Now Tumblr for more on the movie.
