If you've been wondering what happened to Rick Moranis, you're not alone. The actor ditched the film industry in 1997 after losing his wife Ann to cancer. "I'm a single parent and I just found that it was too difficult to manage raising my kids and doing the traveling involved in making movies," he told press. "So I took a little bit of a break. And the little bit of a break turned into a longer break, and then I found that I really didn't miss it." Since then, Moranis has lent his voice to various projects, mainly kids' TV stuff, but the Ghostbusters star is back in 2013 with a new album.
My Mother's Brisket & Other Love Songs arrives on May 21, and you can preorder it over here. The cover art is pretty damn amazing. This isn't Moranis' first time recording an album. In 2005, The Agoraphobic Cowboy was nominated for a Best Comedy Album Grammy. "Out of the blue, I just wrote a bunch of songs. For lack of a better explanation, they’re more country than anything," the actor said in 2004. It didn't set Moranis' music career ablaze, but it was a promising start.
