The first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was filled with plenty of images for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's book to sink their teeth into. If, however, you've never read the book, there's a certain part of the trailer that's just daunting: Gandalf's roll call of all the dwarves.
There are 13 of the little guys in total, and they all more or less look and sound the same. Sure, we've no doubt that the actual films will give us plenty of time to learn and love the differences between them all, but until An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14, us Hobbit newbies are going to have to settle for pretending that part of the trailer doesn't make our eyes gloss over and our brains shut down from name overload.
Or we could just study this handy new banner for the film, which gathers all the dwarves together in a row and puts a name to a face. Of course, one glance at it isn't exactly going to burn all of their names and faces into your mind, but if you don't know Dwalin from Balin or Gloin from Oin, this might help ease some confusion.
