While Guardians of the Galaxy footage has wowed exclusive audiences not once, but twice (at SDCC and D23, respectively), we "regular folk" have had to settle for a few paltry pics of crowds of aliens running across a bridge. Not good enough, Marvel! But, thank you to the folks at Avengers Universe for looking out for us - they snapped a few pics from the SDCC showroom floor of several of the props and costumes from James Gunn's upcoming Marvel sci-fi film.
Here, you get a much better look at the Nova Corps uniform, which bears some of the designs from the comic book, though greatly "movie-fied" so that it looks more functional as an intergalactic police uniform instead of just superhero tights. We also get to see the helmet of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), who'll need it to breathe when he's leading the Guardians against foes on alien worlds. Its look is very faithful to the one used in Star-Lord's 2006 redesign (though he's sporting a completely different helmet in the current Marvel NOW Guardians of the Galaxy series; maybe the new one makes an appearance in the movie as well?). Those interested in some of the first images from the set can head over to our friends at ScreenCrush for that.
Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters in August 2014.
