American Werewolf Main

Blu-ray Bob is going to call it—with regard to visceral horror films, CGI sucks. The gooey goodness of expert makeup effects just cannot be duplicated by computers. Look at 1981’s An American Werewolf in London, one of the best lycanthrope movies of all time that contains unforgettable transformation scenes done the old-fashioned way. Universal will release An American Werewolf in London: Full Moon Edition on September 15 on both DVD and Blu-ray. Both will contain all the extras from the previous releases plus two new features: the 100-minute “Beware the Moon” documentary (featuring director John Landis and makeup maestro Rick Baker) and “I Walked with a Werewolf.” In addition to featuring a superior high-def picture, the Blu-ray also boasts DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound and BD-Live access that is really something for fans to howl about.
