Watch: Are These the 10 Greatest Long Takes in Movie History?

The extended take is one of the flashiest moves in any director’s playbook – filming a long and intricate scene in one continuous shot requires precision, coordination, dedication and sometimes a little luck. Nail it, though, and you’ll have the admiration of movie geeks for all eternity.

I wrote a piece a few years back chronicling 10 of my favorite extended-take sequences of all time, but there were a lot of scenes that didn’t make the cut. Now, the folks over at Cinefix have compiled their own video celebration of these amazing sequences – and they’ve hit a few that I didn’t. So, if you love lengthy and complicated sequences where everything has to be exactly right or everyone has to start over, check out these fantastic choices.
