'Grace of Monaco' Trailer: Nicole Kidman Takes on Grace Kelly, but Is She Too Old for the Part?

She passed away over 30 years ago, but Princess Grace of Monaco (Grace Kelly) still captures the hearts of people the world over. She had a substantial film, television and modeling career before she married Prince Rainier III in 1956. Grace was one of Hitchcock's golden girls, having appeared in Dial M for Murder, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief. The director tried to convince her to accept a role in Marnie several years after she began her reign in Monaco, but she turned down the project fearing public disapproval. Hitch didn't take too kindly to the news.

Olivier Dahan will tell her story in the upcoming Grace of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman as the princess. The film will span her Hollywood career, marriage and the French invasion of Monaco during the 1960s. Costarring Tim Roth, Paz Vega, Parker Posey, Frank Langella and Milo Ventimiglia, the film has been severely criticized by Grace's children, but Dahan has defended the project and tried to reassure the family it isn't a straight biopic. "I have done, in any subjectivity, a human portrait of a modern woman who wants to reconcile her family, her husband, her career. But who will give up her career and invent another role. And it will be painful," he told press.

The first teaser trailer for the film is a brief glance at Kidman in her royal best, with voiceover by Langella. There has been talk about Kidman being too old for the part, though she does bear a striking resemblance to the princess. Weigh in with your thoughts, below. Grace of Monaco opens in theaters on November 27.
