Girls Don't Cry: Kimberly Pierce Tapped for 'Carrie' Remake

Jan 04, 2012

A brief history of Carrie White:

1974 -- Stephen King's debut novel.

1976 -- Brian De Palma's cinematic version.

1988 -- A (very) ill-fated stage musical rendtion.

1999 -- The Rage: Carrie 2 is released.

2002 -- A TV version of the novel shows up.

2012 -- Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Pierce tapped to direct another remake, this one from a screenwriter "who wr[o]te a version of Carrie that is more faithful to the King book, and more grounded than the Brian De Palma-directed film." Sounds awesome. Keep it up, MGM.
