Ghostbusters 3: Ivan Reitman, who has long been in favor of a third installment of the Ghostbusters series, has dropped out of the project as director, though he will still be serving as a producer. He was prompted to make the decision after the recent death of his friend Harold Ramis; the original Ghostbusters were slated to have minor roles in Ghostbusters 3. Sony Pictures remains "very anxious to get the movie started," most likely early in 2015. [Deadline]

In a Valley of Violence: John Travolta and Ethan Hawke will be joining the revenge Western In a Valley of Violence, written and to be directed by Ti West (The Sacrament). West is known for his horror films, but he's drawn from a wide variety of influences to craft his own distinctive work, so his take on a period Western should be decidedly nontraditional. The Boxtrolls Trailer: A delightful new trailer for The Boxtrolls introduces the titular creatures, a friendly group of monsters who live underground. The stop-motion animated movie, featuring the voices of Ben Kingsley, Toni Collette, Elle Fanning, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, opens in theaters on September 26. [MSN UK]
