One thing Marvel has done really well in bringing its stable of superheroes and villains to the screen is helping noncomic readers get instantly familiar with who’s who. As hard as it is to fathom now, a lot of mainstream America wasn’t all that familiar with Iron Man or the Avengers before they took the world by storm in a series of high-grossing films. The company will look to continue introducing the masses to new (and sometimes more obscure) characters in the coming years – including Ant-Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy in the not-too-distant future.
Also on the docket is Ultron – the monstrous robot set to be played by James Spader in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron – and if you don’t know Ultron from a Roomba, you will after watching this video.
IGN put together this cool mini introduction to Ultron that will help newcomers to the Marvel universe get up to speed with the character’s origins, history and so on – then will offer up some ideas about how he might be used in the upcoming Avengers film. Plus, it’s filled with lots of cool info about various Ultron comics – so you can make a reading list if you want to get even more up to speed before the film swoops into theaters in May of 2015.
