George Miller has been readying to shoot two new Mad Max movies, Fury Road and Furiosa. Some heavy rain in the Australian desert flooded the project start dates, moving the production to Namibia. Fury Road is now ready to start production next year, and Furiosa has been scripted and storyboarded. Apparently Miller has largely stuck with the original vibe of the storyboards for Fury Road that he shared before 9/11, which bucked the conventional route and were apparently pretty exciting to look at.
Now comes news that Miller has been hard at work on a third film. "We started with [Fury Road
], but we then started to do a second story and a third. We’ve written the script for the second and almost finished the third. We never intended to, they were part of the exploration of the characters," Miller said, according to Bleeding Cool

In other Miller news, the Happy Feet director is planning another cartoon. It's an animated movie about a bear, called Fur Brigade. Miller's saying it's the most ambitious project he's ever taken on with producing partner Doug Mitchell. We'll try to contain ourselves with the jokes about that title, but yeah …
"[Financial and logistical] headaches have “diluted” Miller and Mitchell’s 'creative overview of other animated projects', Doug Mitchell says … that has meant a rethink of the Omnilab joint venture." Omnilab, of course, refers to the company partnered with Miller and Mitchell's Dr. D digital production studio that has seen its share of disappointments lately. Will Miller and company be able to straighten out their production woes in time to see a third Mad Max and more animated friends?
