If you loved Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph and the documentary The King of Kong, you’ll want to check out this new faux documentary short about one man’s quest to regain his title as Fix-It Felix Jr. world champion.
The film, entitled Wreck-It Ralph Presents “Garlan Hulse: Where Potential Lives," is a 30-minute short about Garlan Hulse, a young boy who lands the world record score in Fix-It Felix, only to see his record broken by his former childhood friend. The defeat sends Hulse’s life spiraling downward, and director Rich Moore catches up with the former champ as a grown man still living with his mother and working a series of dead-end jobs as he plots another run at the title.
The faux doc has everything you’d expect from a King of Kong spoof, including a long-haired nemesis who’s a great stand-in for Billy Mitchell, drama, and even a fledgling romance. We won't spoil all the good jokes here, but trust us, there are some genuinely funny moments in this piece.
