Rumors have been swirling for quite a while now that Wonder Woman would be making an appearance of some kind in Batman vs. Superman, and now we have confirmation from Variety that Gal Gadot has landed the highly coveted role. Unfortunately we don't have a shred of news beyond that casting announcement, but we will update this space as soon as we do.
Gadot is a relatively new face in Hollywood, having broken onto the scene in 2009 as Gisele in Fast & Furious. She stayed on that series until part six, when her character exited the franchise. Beyond that she's had small roles in Date Night and Knight and Day, as well as in a few TV shows in her native Israel.
Here's what Zack Snyder had to say about her casting:
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
So, what do you make of this casting? Clearly Gadot is a world class beauty, but do you agree with Snyder that she has what it takes to play one of the most famous female superheroes of all time?
