If you’re a channel surfer (or have kids), you may have stumbled upon ABC’s Once Upon a Time, the network’s small-screen adaptation of fairy-tale canon. Various characters from famous fables are brought to life in the series, transported to a real-world scenario that’s set in a seaside town called Storybrooke (aw, precious). The fairy-tale icons are robbed of their memories by a powerful curse.
Given the popularity of Disney’s Frozen, it was only a matter of time before the film’s heroine showed up as a regular on Once Upon a Time. During the season-three finale, Elsa was introduced in the final moments of the episode (watch the scene, below). Georgina Haig (Fringe) will play the Snow Queen, who winds up in Storybrooke after being released from an urn and accidentally sucked into a time-traveling portal from the Enchanted Forest.
Time gave us the first real look at Haig’s Elsa. The dress, hair and expression are faithful to the Disney beauty who has a complex personality and sass for days. If Frozen still has you under its spell, tune into season four of ABC’s Once Upon a Time to see a real-life version of Elsa on September 28.
