First Teaser Posters for 'Sin City: A Dame To Kill For' and 'Machete Kills'

May 14, 2012

The first teaser posters for Robert Rodriguez's next two films, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For and Machete Kills, have arrived online ahead of the start of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. The first Sin City premiered at Cannes back in 2005, so perhaps the timing of this teaser poster is hinting at where the sequel will premiere next year? Both sequels will begin production soon, with Machete Kills shooting before Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, though with Frank Miller co-directing the latter there's a chance filming may overlap a bit.

If Rodriguez accomplishes anything with these two sequels it's that he's single-handedly reviving the career of Jessica Alba, who doesn't seem to be doing much outside Robert Rodriguez films these days. Alba will star in Machete Kills, along with Michelle Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and Mel Gibson, while she'll also be a main component in the Sin City follow-up, reprising her role as Nancy Callahan. That sequel will be made up of three stories, two existing (A Dame To Kill For, Just Another Saturday Night) and one new (The Long, Bad Night). No official word yet on who will be starring opposite Alba in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, though we should expect the return of Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Clive Owen, Michael Clarke Duncan and Devon Aoki. Additionally, the site that first posted this teaser image, c7nema, claims Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will be in 3D.

Check out both posters below. As of now neither film has an official release date, but both should arrive in theaters in 2013. [via The Playlist]
