First Look: Anna Sophia Robb in 'Sex and the City' Prequel TV Series and Jennifer Lawrence in 'House at the End of the Street'

Mar 23, 2012

Is there such a thing as a Manic Pixie Brooklyn Hipster? Because that's what first popped into our heads as we caught a glimpse of this first look at Anna Sophia Robb as the new Carrie Bradshaw (formerly played by Sarah Jessica Parker) in The Carrie Diaries, which is a TV series coming to The CW that will chronicle the character's early years as a Manic Pixie Brooklyn Hipster living in 1980s New York. Either that, or this is some weird mumblecore Wizard of Oz update -- we're still trying to decide. Regardless, fans of the Sex and the City TV series (and movies) should find something to enjoy here, though we don't think it'll be 1980s New York City, which was dirty, crime-ridden and not the glamorous Disney-fied city it is now. In addition to that first look, here's an image of Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming horror/thriller The House at the End of the Street. Timed to arrive just as The Hunger Games hits theaters, this image shows us some of Lawrence's cleavage, yes, but also that she's very afraid of something. But what? The film stars Lawrence as a girl who moves next door to a house that was once the scene of some savage murders. She takes an interest in the house -- as well as the man (Max Thieriot) whose family was slaughtered -- and, well, freaky things happen from there. The House at the End of the Street hits theaters on September 21st. [via EW]
