First Listen: Florence & The Machine's "Breath of Life" from 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

Apr 26, 2012

It's not exactly a new thing to see popular musicians recording songs for big movies, but lately it seems the world of music and movies have been intertwined in all sorts of interesting ways, at least when it comes to the scoring of films. This summer's blockbusters will certainly be continuing the trend of movie music from popular musicians, with The Avengers doling out the first Soundgarden track in 15 years, while Snow White and the Huntsman will follow that up with a little something from Florence & The Machine.

That little something is called "Breath of Life," and it ain't half bad. The track has a very adventurous spirit to it -- like something you'd listen to while off on a quest, with the heavy drums and strong, demanding vocals -- which should fit in nicely with the themes of the movie, as Kristen Stewart's Snow White teams up with Chris Hemsworth to fight forest creatures and take down Charlize Theron's evil queen.

The rest of the soundtrack hits on May 29th, with the film arriving in theaters on June 1st. Listen to the track below and let us know what you think. [via The Playlist]
