The First Full Look at the New 'Deadpool' Is Perfect, Perfect, Perfect

You don't even have to be a hardcore, know-every-detail comic fan to know that the Deadpool that first showed up in X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn't really the Deadpool from the comics. The comic version is a fully-masked madman hero with a death wish and a biting, meta sense of humor. The Wolverine version was a kind of angsty, ultrapowered mutant who traded a full body suit for some scar tissue that covered up his mouth so he couldn't even talk.

So you can imagine that it's with quite a lot of relief that fans now get to see the first official, full body look at the new, rebooted Deadpool (who is still being played by Ryan Reynolds). Not only is his costume a very faithful recreation of the pen-and-ink version fans have known for two decades, but the recreation of a classic Burt Reynolds image (potentially NSFW) also manages to show off the movie's faithful port of the masked mercenary's sense of humor.

So, in one image alone, it would seem that Deadpool is finally in safe hands and allowed to be himself. Rejoice!

Deadpool, directed by Tim Miller, hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
