In a totally unsurprising move, Bridesmaids co-star Melissa McCarthy has been cast in another Judd Apatow production.  She and Super 8'Ryan Lee will be joining Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in the Untitled Knocked Up Spin-off directed by Apatow.

A press release from Legendary Entertainment about who they're bringing to Comic-Con reveals that Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi (Babel) has been cast in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.

The LA Times' 24 Frames blog is reporting that Horrible Bossess screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are being hired to write a currently untitled sequel to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (it will not be based on the book's sequel, Pickles to Pittsburgh).  The first film's directing duo will not be returning to the helm.

Eli Roth, who hasn't directed a movie since Hostel II, still wants to the apocalypse film Endangered Species to be his next project. [via The Playlist]

The DGA is hosting a nearly 2-hour long presentation in which JJ Abrams and James Cameron interview Steven Spielberg.  It's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the man's work (and who isn't?). [via /Film]

Relativity Media has locked a September 23rd release for the Marc Forser-directed Machine Gun Preacher, starring Gerard Butler in this true story about a former drug dealer who becomes a crusader for refugee children in East Africa.

Mikael Hafstrom (1408, The Rite) is set to direct a modern Jekyll and Hyde-esque story titled Wake for Hammer Films.
