With Public Enemies now in theaters and getting generally favorable reviews, it was only a matter of time before some studio started digging through director Michael Mann’s catalog for potential re-release candidates. Before you can say, “cha-ching,” Blu-ray Bob breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn’t Miami Vice. Instead, the winner is Heat, the explosive crime drama starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer. Mann personally supervised an all-new transfer for its Blu-ray debut on November 3 from Warner Bros. Extras will include “The Making of Heat,” “Pacino and De Niro: The Conversation,” “Return to the Scene of the Crime,” deleted scenes and commentary by Mann. No word if Mann will comment on his unique talent to polarize moviegoers.
