Grab a pen. I'll keep this simple:
Returning for the Expendables sequel are Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Randy Couture and Terry Crews.
Re-joining the team in a much larger fashion will be action mega-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. (source: Deadline)
Now he have word that Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Scott Adkins have also been invited to the party! (source: Moviehole) And the Expendables 2 IMDb page lists Peter Weller as a rumor too! That's freakin' Robocop!
So who's not returning? Eric Roberts and Jet Li, which is probably for the best. These are "gun" movies, and Jet Li works best with his own fists.
So who did they miss? Well, Steven Seagal seems to be a notable omission (which is fine), and I'd love to see this series invite someone like Kurt Russell or Dennis Quaid to play along. Or, now go with me here, how about Harrison Ford as the super-villain? Now that'd be cool. Final note: Expendables 2 will not be directed by Sly Stallone, as the first flick was. Who's behind the camera now? The guy who directed Con Air. Yeah. Now we're having some fun.
(Thanks to The Filmstage for helping me sort all this out.)
