Elysium, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp's next film, doesn't come out until March of 2013, but that's not stopping Columbia Pictures from trying to build buzz nearly a year-and-a-half in advance. They've already kicked off the viral marketing campaign for the film at Comic-Con by putting up a bunch of recruitment posters for a corporation called Armadyne. And while a boring and vague poster might pass muster for viral marketing elsewhere, that's not good enough for Elysium.
The below video (thanks to The Playlist for the embed) first popped up at Armadyne.net, and while we assume it doesn't feature any actual footage from the sci-fi film (which stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Alice Braga, Diego Luna and, of course, Sharlto Copley), it does a great job of teasing the futuristic world of Elysium, which is apparently in need of "Zero G Welders, Mega-structure Engineers and Quantum Networkers." And while it's only through ComingSoon.net's confirmation that Armadyne.net is indeed marketing for Elysium, it's still a slick little teaser that reminds me of my favorite teaser trailers (if only the movie was better).
