Edward James Olmos Loads Up for '2 Guns' Adaptation

Jun 22, 2012

Edward James OlmosWe’re starting to get excited about Universal’s adaptation of the comic book 2 Guns. If nothing else, today’s casting update should certainly please fans of Battlestar Galactica.

SuperHeroHype is reporting that Edward James Olmos has officially joined the cast alongside Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington in the action thriller based on a BOOM! Studios comic.

Olmos, perhaps best known for playing Admiral William Adama in Battlestar Galactica, will play the chief antagonist in Baltasar Kormakur’s film. Washington and Wahlberg will headline as a pair of thieves determined to rob a bank – but neither knows that the other is hiding a secret about their true identity. Things only get worse when the mob comes after them for the money they’ve stolen – which would appear to be where Olmos fits in.

While we’re not entirely sold on Wahlberg, Washington and Olmos should give 2 Guns some pop in the acting department. The film is currently shooting.

What do you think? Is this cast good enough to get you into the theater or will you wait to catch 2 Guns when it hits DVD?
